WEEKEND WEBSTAPICK #17
“The perspective, timing and colors are great!”- @sanneb10 on why she chose @zeugolator’s photo.
On a weekend, we give past Webstapick winners a chance to take on the role of Guest Pickers (or guest judges).
This weekend’s Guest Picker is Sanne (@sanneb10) from the Netherlands. During her free time she loves to go out and shoot together with fellow Instagrammers.
More About Our Guest Picker

1. What/who inspires you?
My boyfriend @herbertschroer who I met through Instagram. :)

2. What’s one tip you can give our readers when it comes to taking photos (or videos) on their smartphones?
Practice! Take a lot of pictures, try out different perspectives and take your time. You are doing great if you look back into your IG feed and see aspects you would do different now.
3. Favorite photo or video editing apps
I edit my pictures with Snapseed and VSCOcam. I always add a filter of VSCOcam. After that I slightly edit the brightness, contrast, and vignette in Snapseed.
4. Favorite Instagramers
I have many favorite Instagrammers who all have their personal style. Some examples are: @moneal, @puanindya, @thomas_k and @hirozzzz

Thanks Sanne and congrats to our Weekend Webstapick winner! :)Get more familiar about Webstapick by joining our community!

WEEKEND WEBSTAPICK #16
“The light (and angle) in this shot is just amazing! - @furstset on why he chose @shobu23’s photo.
On a weekend, we give past Webstapick winners a chance to take on the role of Guest Pickers (or guest judges).
This weekend’s Guest Picker is 23-year old Stijn Dijkstra (@furstset) from the Netherlands. After finishing Interactive Design, he is now studying Communication & Multimedia Design. He says he can do Graphic Design and Photography for hours!
More About Our Guest Picker

1. What/who inspires you?
When we’re not talking about people, my biggest inspiration is the world itself. Just the tiny things people never see. The growing shadows when the sun goes down, the falling leaves when time changes and the simple lines on buildings, roads or trees.
Once a week I take a walk through the forest. Not during the day or in the evening but before the sun gets up. I’m riding on my bike with a cold breeze in my face, finding amazing spots where the first light will shine through. These are the moments where I’m inspired and are what inspire me the most.
If we talk about people, my biggest inspiration is Eelco Roos (@Croyable). I joined his iPhoneography workshop a year back and since then, my photography got better and better. I just enjoy watching his feed while he travels the world to shoot nature’s finest.

2. What’s one tip you can give our readers when it comes to taking photos (or videos) on their smartphones?
Composition!!! It’s all about Composition. Some photographers keep believing that better cameras make better pictures, but I think the only way to make a great picture is through a good composition. At the moment you master the way of composing, you will get more confident in shooting which will improve your pictures more!
3. Favorite photo or video editing apps
VSCO is my favorite app that I use on my iPhone, and Photoshop is my favorite app that I use on my laptop.
4. Favorite Instagramers
As mentioned above @Croyable.
5. Are you part of any photo community on Instagram?
No. I used to have a community that I ran for over 4 months and I had to quit it because I wanted to focus on the thing I like to do most: “Show people the beauty of earth”!

Thanks Stijn and congrats to our Weekend Webstapick winner! :)Get more familiar about Webstapick by joining our community!

We’ve all heard of Instagram’s new feature, Hyperlapse, but did you know you can create the opposite with a few nifty tricks on your mobile phone or desktop?

To see some examples of slow-motion videos, check out:

iPhone users rejoice, well, iPhone 5S users to be precise! The setting is built-in your phone. Simply use the “slo-mo” setting in the native camera and you’re good to go. You can further edit to enhance or customise your creation within the iMovie app.

If you’re using other Apple devices, apps like SloPro might help! (https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/slopro-1000fps-slow-motion/id507232505)

If you’re an Android user, fret not. Most Android flagships have the slow-motion feature built-in the stock camera applications. If you don’t have it or can’t seem to find it, we suggest using AndroVid Video Trimmer. (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.androvid&hl=en)

So how about creating fresh new content for your Instagram feed this week using these tricks we shared? Don’t forget to tag #webstapick on Instagram, we now feature noteworthy videos too!

P.S. We find this particularly fun for those of you who are going to do the #ALSicebucketchallenge.
