WEBSTA DIARIES

7 DIY Photography Tips Using Household Objects

WEEKEND WEBSTAPICK #06
"I loved this shot at first sight because it captures some harmony in the urban chaos. I also loved the intense colors that are in contrast with the grey because it doesn´t (make the photo) look like ‘color splash’. It looks natural. And the people in this picture look like just one person moving along the scene."  - @ovidio001 on why he chose @isma_neto's photo.
On a weekend, we give past Webstapick winners a chance to choose a winning photo.
This weekend’s Guest Picker is Ovídio (@ovidio001).
Ovídio is from São Paulo, Brazil, and he works as a copywriter in an advertising agency.
More About Our Guest Picker

1. What/who inspires you?
I like good pictures independent of styles. I think I just don´t like oversaturated pictures and images with tons of filters.
2. What kind of photos/videos do you like to take?
I like photographing trivial moments through unusual points of view, as well as the unnoticed geometry of everyday.

3. Favorite photo or video editing apps
I always capture my pics with the native camera app. To edit I use mostly Snapseed and sometimes Photo Editor. (I´m an Android user so I´m not sure if they are available on iOS). After the last update, the edit functions of Instagram became much more interesting too. And there´s one more thing: TouchRetouch. This app is some kind of magic and allows you to remove unwanted objects from your picture.
4. Favorite Instagrammers
It´s one of my faults… I don´t (have any favorite Instagrammers). But I could recommend @reuters, as one of the must-follows in Instagram. It´s not a proper Instagrammer, but a selection of great pictures of many photographers around the world.

5. Are you part of any photo community on Instagram?
No. I am a lone rider… hehehe… Actually, my community are my friends from around the world that I have made via Instagram. Friends that have fun watching my shots.

WEEKEND WEBSTAPICK #05
"I immediately fell in love with this shot. The soft colour scheme and light is a real treat for the eye and the composition is just great. But most of all I find the mood amazing. It makes me feel happy :-)"  - @gittestark on why she chose @liv_jess's photo.
On a weekend, we give past Webstapick winners a chance to choose a winning photo.
This weekend’s Guest Picker is Gitte (@gittestark).
Gitte Stark is from Denmark and works as a User Experience Specialist at a Danish Broadcaster in Copenhagen.
More About Our Guest Picker

1. What/who inspires you?
First of all, I’m inspired by the place where I live - just at the “edge” of Copenhagen where modern architecture meets nature. But travelling to, or exploring new areas, also inspires me.
2. What kind of photos/videos do you like to take?
I take all kinds of photos actually, but I do have a thing for architecture, nature and bikes.

3. Favorite Instagrammers
I can’t single out a specific Instagrammer – I do have a handful of favorites though. Each with his or her own style and theme. As you can tell by my more than 1000 followings, I think there are so many splendid Instagrammers out there.

4. Favorite photo or video editing apps
Snapseed is my one and only app for basic editing and sometimes I like to add VSCO’s presets. It all depends on what mood I am trying to convey with my photo.
5. Are you part of any photo community on Instagram?
I participate in Instawalks and other events arranged by @igersdenmark on a regular basis, and have made a lot of friends in the community because of this.
